Am I able to use RIT dye to make a purely one color silk jacket even more vibrant in color?

Question: I have a pale yellow silk jacket that I would like to be a much more ablaze with yellow. Can I use a dye like RIT to make it a brighter yellow without damaging the jacket's framework?
